Meet Dr. Signe

Welcome to my clinic. With nearly 20 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to enhancing the hearing health of individuals across all stages of life, from infants to the elderly. My passion for Speech and Hearing Science was sparked early on, driven by the understanding that improved hearing significantly enhances education, behaviour, and overall well-being. My career has taken me from presenting research at the World Health Organization to working in rural communities in the Philippines, where I helped developed systems that improved health and educational outcomes for disadvantaged populations. Last year I completed a Doctorate in Audiology at A.T. Still University in Arizona.

As I continue to grow in my profession, I am committed to advancing my knowledge and skills, and am always on a mission to deepen my expertise and bring cutting-edge practices to my local community. My goal is to provide comprehensive hearing health for the whole family, and with a global perspective, a dedication to continuous learning, and commitment to excellence,  drive me to make a meaningful impact in the field of Audiology. I look forward to continuing this journey and contributing to the betterment of hearing health for all.

When I am not in the clinic, I also enjoy my role as Lecturer at The University of Sydney in their audiology courses. And outside of work I enjoy being with my husband, our two children,  and our wheaten terrier, in this beautiful area of Sydney we call home.

Dr Signe Steers (Peitersen) holds a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing science from Macquarie University, Sydney, A Masters in Clinical Audiology from Macquarie University Sydney, and a Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University Arizona.
